Toronto to Montreal in a Tesla.
Toronto to Montreal is about 540 km one way. Here's how I'd do it in a Model Y Standard (463 km rated range), with real Supercharger locations along the way.
Charging stops
- Port Hope (Hwy 401)
- Kingston (Hwy 401)
- Morrisburg, about 2 km off the 401, up to 250 kW
- Cornwall, 805 Brookdale Ave, 8 stalls up to 150 kW
Always let the car's navigation pick and precondition for stops; it shows live stall availability and price.
Approximate cost
540 km × 15.4 kWh/100 km ≈ 83 kWh. If all of it came from Superchargers at $0.30–$0.55/kWh, that's about $25–$46 one way. Leave home at 100% and you'll Supercharge less. Winter and highway speed raise consumption, so treat this as a summer estimate. Details: Supercharger cost per km.
Notes
Distance is approximate. Quebec has its own charging networks too. With 463 km rated range, one or two short stops cover it in summer; plan more in winter.
I film all of this on my own 2026 Model Y Standard. Watch on The Electric Standard on YouTube.
